The Product Import page enables self-hosted administrators to import one or more non-configured products into MarketDirect StoreFront. After importing, you can configure and publish the products on the Products page.
You can import configured product(s) into MarketDirect StoreFront using the Products-Add or Update option on the Import tab of the Export - Import page. For more information on the Products-Add or Update option, see Batch Product Management.
1 From the Select Company pull-down menu, select the company to which to import the product/s.
To limit the display of companies, select the number of companies in the Show field.
2 Click Upload file(s).
3 On the Upload File dialog, click Browse....
4 On the File Upload dialog, select a product file to import (i.e., .cpkg, .doc, .docx, .ps, .zip).
5 Click Open.
6 Click OK.
7 If you uploaded a zip file, click Un-zip to unzip the files (thus creating as many products as files in the zip file).
Note that MarketDirect StoreFront assumes that all zip files are FusionPro files. The Un-zip file(s) message will open with the message: “Are you sure you want to un-zip the selected file(s)? If FusionPro zipped file(s) are un-zipped, they cannot be imported as Fusion Pro products. This cannot be un-done.” Choose Cancel or Un-zip.
8 Select the file and (optionally) type a product name in the entry box: .
The product name is optional. When the product name is left blank, the name of the uploaded file is used as the product name.
9 Select the file/s to import and click Import as product(s).
10 On the “Import as product(s)” dialog:
● From the Select Ticket Template drop-down list, select the product ticket template to associate with the product you are importing.
● Check the Activate product when importing box to activate the product (make it active in the online catalog).
● Check the Hide Extension in Product Name box to hide the file extension (e.g., .zip) in the product name (e.g., as it appears in the catalog).
● (Optional) In the Publish field, click Browse... to select the target category for the product on the Select Target Category panel.
● Select the target category from the Categories tree.
● Click Import.
If the product/s file import was successful, you will receive the message (at the top of the page): “X files were successfully imported as products. Go to Manage Products to continue with configuration and set up.” If the import was not successful, you will receive the following message: “There was an error. Please see the Event Log for more information.”
11 To configure and publish the product/s you imported, go to Administration > Products. The product/s you imported will be listed in the products table on the Manage Products page.
