Installing Remote Print Center (RPC) Required Components

1         Download the .NET framework from Microsoft: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/net48.

2         Install the .NET framework following the steps presented in the install wizard.

For the specific steps to install Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) for the version of Windows operating system running on the client computer you are configuring for Remote Print Center, consult your Microsoft Windows documentation or visit support.microsoft.com.

 

Windows Firewall may block port 4545 by default. Remote Print Center communicates using Port 4545 through the firewall. Use the procedure below to open the port manually.

The procedure below aims to provide general guidance on opening ports in the Windows firewall. There will be minor variations depending upon which version of Windows you are using. 1         Open Windows Firewall by clicking Start > Control Panel > Security or Network and Internet Connections (depending on the operating systems you are using).

2         Open Windows Firewall. (Note that in some versions of the Windows operating system you will have to click Allow a program through Windows Firewall.)

3         Click the Exceptions tab.

4         Click Add Port.

5         In the Add a Port dialog, in the Name field, type Port 4545.

6         In the Port number field, type 4545.

7         In the Protocol field select TCP.

8         Click OK.

To verify the port is open, at the command prompt, enter netstat -ano. This will display a list of all ports in numerical order. Scroll down and ensure that port 4545 is open.
